Officers

House Corporation President – 1 year term

Tom McSwiggan

Tom McSwiggan – incumbent

House Corporation Vice-President – 1 year term

Mike Wyble

Mike Wyble – incumbent

Tom and I have been doing this job for four years now. We think we have assembled an excellent team of officers and trustees. During the meeting Tom will be presenting an extensive power point presentation of what has been done and where we are going next.  In a nutshell, if you like what has been accomplished we would appreciate you vote. We would like for the  house to be completed before the 50th, right now it is a question of money, and the virus isn’t helping much. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

House Corporation Treasurer – 1 year term

Seth Downs – Incumbent

This will be my 15th year as your Treasurer, if you don’t know who I am then clearly you have a life, congrats.  The brothers of Eta Iota deserve the best Treasurer possible, until he shows up, you may want to just vote for me.
In hoc,
Seth Downs ‘92

House Corporation Secretary – 1 year term

Kyle Stuhlweissenburg

Kyle Stuhlweissenburg – Incumbent

Delta Alpha Pledge Class 2016 (#871)

Graduation : December 2018

My name is Kyle Stuhlweissenburg (Stuh), I graduated ERAU in Decmeber of 2018 with a bachelors in Aeronautical Science and a minor in Business Administration. Since graduation I have been working as a flight instructor at Phoenix East Aviation in Daytona Beach.

I am seeking reelection as the Eta Iota House Corporation Secretary in 2020. Over the past year I have worked diligently with the members of the House Corporation to help improve communication and transparency among the undergraduate brothers, alumni and house corporation members. Since taking on this role I have worked with brothers in revisions and review of our current bylaws, introduced a semesterly newsletter and brought a different perspective to the table. I am in the fortunate position that I am a recent graduate and have a good working relationship with the house corporation and  undergraduate chapter. My goals this year are to :

  • Implement more frequent meetings for the HC to every 6-8 weeks, which would allow us to keep on top of the goals and objectives we set each term.
  • Similarly I’d like to provide our undergraduate chapter with a monthly report of what we are actively working on at the house, to aid in transparency between HC and the Undergrads.
  • Create it so all official House Corporation communications to the alumni and undergraduates are coming from one source and not multiple email chains or individuals, to clarify the messages we are sending out.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to message me or call my cell 845-664-4158.

Trustees (2 spots available)

We have two (2) trustee positions open. The 2 nominees receiving the highest total vote counts will fill those positions.

House Corporation Trustees – 3 year term

Tom Henion

Tom Henion – incumbent

Brothers,
This is Tom Henion, known to some as Onion, and I’m running for reelection as Trustee for the House Corporation.
Here’s a little background. I was initiated in January of 1973 and graduated in December of 1974. I held several chapter offices including Consul. After graduation I flight instructed and flew charter and corporate. I was eventually hired by American Airlines and I was there 38 years, flying the last 8 on the B-777. I retired in March of 2018.
I have been a Life Loyal Sig since shortly after graduation. I’m in the 1855 club at the Constantine level. I had planned on spending several weeks at the house helping out with renovations but I was sidelined with an aortic valve replacement (I’m doing great) last year and of course covid-19 this year. I’ve lived my life by practicing the principles of Sigma chi. I will be a Sig through all eternity.
The House Corporation has kept things going on a straight, responsible course. The House Corporation Officers have tackled the improvements and repairs on priority basis. Tom, Mike and Seth have done a great job with the renovations while being financially responsible.
I would like to see communications improve. I realize that the everyday business is done by the Executive committee. But, I don’t like being asked a question from an other alumni about something happening either with the House Corporation or Chapter and never having heard about the point in question. A monthly update would be appreciated.
I would appreciate your vote. If you have any questions or comments just give me a call at 585-317-8508. Thanks!
In hoc,
Tom

Dave Marino

Dave Marino

Hello, my name is Dave Marino and I would like your support as an Eta Iota House Corporation Trustee. As the Eta Iota chapter and house enter a new decade, I would like to step up and lend my experience in guiding them into a new age.

I currently reside in Gig Harbor, Washington with my wife, Heather, and six year old daughter, Olivia. My work obligations consist of flying for Delta Air Lines as a B767/B757 First Officer.

I was initiated in the Fall of 1995 and graduated summer of 1999. During my time as an undergraduate, I had the pleasure of serving the chapter in various positions. Some of the positions included: Pool boy, Historian, Peterson Significant Chapter Chairman and Pro-Consul. In my last year as an undergraduate, I had the honor of being Eta Iota’s Balfour Award candidate for our Province. Other undergraduate distinctions include membership in Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society.

After college, I had the opportunity to continue to build upon the ideals of Sigma Chi and volunteer in other organizations. After college I returned home to New York and began serving as a Stony Point Volunteer Fire Fighter. The Stony Point Fire Department, like Sigma Chi, has a long tradition of service and leadership. It was founded in 1894 and is an all volunteer force serving a community of approximately fifteen thousand residents. While flying at Continental Express/Express Jet Airlines I served as the Contract 2004 Picket Chairman and was an active member of both the Grievance and Aeromedical Committees. During that time, I also attended training at FLETC to volunteer as an FFDO. At Delta Air Lines, I had the opportunity to serve as an ALPA International Council 66 Secretary/Treasurer. My primary responsibilities consisted of overseeing and managing an eighty five thousand dollar annual budget.

I am a Life Loyal Sig and have been both a long term 1855 Club and International Fraternity Foundation donor. Most recently, I helped to coordinate a pool brick donation in honor of our pledge class, Beta Eta.

I would be remiss if I did not thank outgoing Trustee Ramano Sprueil for his dedication to our chapter. Ramano has been an instrumental fixture in the lives of Sigma Chi’s throughout the world. We are very fortunate to have a fellow Eta Iota brother who has given so unselfishly of himself to Sigma Chi. Just as the ideals of true brotherhood are a constant endeavor, so is the attempt to fill his shoes. If elected, I will strive to follow the standard he set.

Thank you for taking the time out of your lives to continue to be an active and instrumental part of our chapter. Once again, I humbly seek your support as one of Eta Iota’s House Corporation Trustees. In Hoc Signo Vinces.

Eta Iota, Alpha Xi ClassInitiated 1987 (#387), Graduated 1990
Undergrad positions held: Pro-Consul, Quaestor, Magister, Chapter Editor, White Rose Chairman

Post Graduate: Life Loyal Sig Eta Iota 1855 ClubHouse Corp Trustee in the mid 90’s
Chapter Advisor for the Iota Eta chapter at Western Connecticut ~1994-1998Active with the DC and Baltimore Alumni Chapters since 2015Alumni Advisor for the Sigma Chi Delta Colony at Towson University since 2017

Professional experience: Over the last 30 years I have evolved from an airline management, sales and marketing guy into a loyalty marketing director and consultant with a concentration in partnerships and loyalty / engagement technology professional leveraging behavioral and data science Career track: Embraer, VARIG Brazilian Airlines, US Airways, American Express (12 years), Points.com, Maritz Motivation

My goals as a Trustee

1.  To serve my chapter as an active representative of my Brothers, leveraging my experience and interaction with the General Fraternity (CMO, grand trustees and foundation board members).
2.  Develop engagement with our younger brothers and encourage them to step up and step in to House Corp positions.  I would rather have a Trutsee born in the 80’s than one initiated in the 80’s.  We need a better representation of our brotherhood of all ages.  In the end my goal is to be replaced by a much younger brother.
3. Cross-pollinate ideas from other House corporations and active chapters to strengthen Eta Iota and Sigma Chi.

Daryl Gerow

Daryl Gerow

My name is Darryl Gerow, I am a Graduate of the 2020 class of Embry-Riddle. I have a bachelors in Homeland Security with a minor in Terrorism Studeis. I am a newly commissioned officer in the Military Police branch of the US Army.

I want to run for a trustee position to get myself involved in alumni/undergrad relations, as well as provide insight to House Corp as being a younger generation and seeing the issues and troubles the undergrads face at Riddle currently. In July I will be in MO follow that I will be stationed in Savannah Ga for roughly 3-4 years. Meaning I can be a local voice and eye for House Corp and make trips down to the House for checkups and provide any feedback House Corp has and vice versa for undergrads.

If you have any questions for me on this position feel free to reach out to my cell at 360-485-7118. IH

Very Respectfully,
Darryl L Gerow Jr.
